What are Clinical Guidelines?
Clinical guidelines are systematically developed statements which are developed to guide decisions made by health professionals on the best health care for specific clinical conditions. Guidelines provide recommendations for effective clinical practice where there are known differences in practice and where the care provided across a given country or area may be inconsistent.

A useful website to colleagues in clinics looking at guidelines is the Guidelines International Network. This organisation aims to assist colleagues around the world, who are developing evidence-based guidelines, to talk to each other and reduce unecessary duplication globally.
